A 3-year Research Associate (Postdoc) position is available at the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy, and Geophysics at Ruhr University Bochum. The position is within the new working group ‘Geomorphology and Geohazards’, which focuses on the evolution of Earth’s surface during the Quaternary. The group uses a combination of field, laboratory, and numerical methods to understand the interplay between transport, weathering, and erosion processes, as well as their climatic and tectonic drivers at the Earth’s surface, including human-landscape interactions.

The position focuses on the development and application of novel electron spin resonance (ESR) and luminescence dating techniques to study Earth surface processes and their interactions. Further scientific qualification is desired and strongly supported. The position also includes teaching responsibilities (4 hours per week).
The deadline for applications is 9th December 2024. Start date: as soon as possible.
